Sophos Antivirus won’t install?

I installed Sophos Antivirus in August back when I had Vista with no problem and it was running fine.

Then after I installed Windows 7 (Home Premium), the program would update but would not open at all, and this went on for several weeks.

So I finally decided to uninstall it and try downloading and installing it again, but whenever I try to install, the following message appears:

It says “Windows cannot find ‘C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\sav_install\InstallSophos.lnk’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.”

I can’t find the file using Windows Explorer either, so I am stumped. Any solutions to this?
And I checked on the Compatibility website, and Sophos Anti-Virus version 7 is compatible with Windows 7
Clarification: Windows cannot find ‘C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\ Temp\sav_install\InstallSophos.lnk’

Chosen Answer:

is it compatible with 7 ??

run ccleaner & auslogics registry to fix any type of registry errors.
then try to install.

open your IE browser and go to the Microsoft 7 web site and check if these two are compatible;many are not.

Upgrading to a new operating system is like walking through a minefield with your eyes shut. Half the programs installed need new drivers due to compatibilty issues.
